Celebrating its 43rd year in style late last year, L’Occitane launched its’ Australian flagship store in Melbourne’s iconic Block Arcade.  The Yarra Valley Commercial team completed the premium retail fit-out in a relatively short time-frame delivering a truly stunning result.

The Design

New York Design Agency, School House provided plans that demanded the Yarra Valley Commercial team do what they do best; craft custom made features using unique materials.

The internationally designed circular units are made from curved steel and the curved wall arches from timber veneer.  The scalloped draw fronts were all crafted onsite at the Yarra Valley Commercial Melbourne Factory.

Tarnished brass formed the LED lit shelving.  A specialist painter joined the team to complete the look with a rendered wall finish using product sourced from Italy.

From the Project Manager…

It’s hard to pick, however project manager John Lovelock maintains the custom-made water feature is the highlight for him.  Built by hand this metal spun bowl, complimented by a timber turned feature offers the perfect setting for the internationally sourced tapware.

John concludes “After more than 20 years in the business, this retail fit-out is my most rewarding install. This calibre of project showcases how skilled, hard working and creative our team is.”

The L’Occitane retail space in the Block Arcade is more than a store, it really is an experience.
