MoneyMe Newcastle

Location

Following up the success of MoneyMe’s Head office fitout in CBD Sydney, came another contemporary installation located in the ASX listed, CEO’s hometown of Newcastle. Taking up residence on the 7th floor in the newly constructed Darby Plaza, it wasn’t long before the 950m2 space was transformed into a simply stunning 2030’s fintech hub.

Working closely with the client throughout the scope brief, design and fit-out stages, the Yarra Valley Commercial (YVC) design and construction teams completed the project beaming with pride delivering an unparalleled work environment conducive to working, collaboration, relaxing, and connecting.

Design

With the clients lead brief stipulating a futuristic staff experience workspace like Google and Airbnb, the YVC teams were excited to embark on a cold shell fit-out. With no demo or pre-existing structures to navigate, creativity and expertise took flight as the design and building solutions were carefully crafted to achieve an engaging and rewarding workplace experience.

Boasting space for seventy workstations, two meeting rooms, one massive next level cafe kitchen and dining area, an out-there breakout space and multi-level auditorium was just the beginning. Add an impressive staff lockers area, a super cool ‘Zen Den’ for team members and multiple chill-out zones. Stunning project specific designs were provided by Ambience Lighting and Interface Flooring. The 100m2 balcony showcasing the best harbour views in Newcastle, ensured the client brief was resoundingly exceeded.

Installation highlights were plenty including the aforementioned auditorium, kitchen café area, boardrooms, and CEO’s office. From design to handover, the 8-month project was driven by passionate and creative project manager and dedicated team. The navigation of supply chain and labour issues proved an ongoing challenge, but no obstacle was too great to overcome with the YVC team leading the charge.

Joinery and furniture production took place at YVC’s Melbourne Factory. The striking YDL stone used throughout the kitchen café area was also fabricated in Melbourne by the Artestone Team who transported and installed stone at the Newcastle site. Acoustic panels feature in the meeting rooms and CEO’s office with LVT acoustic vinyl planks and interface carpet used on the floor. Ambience Lighting deliverables included programmable LEDs in the bespoke design crafting functional, effective, and stylish lighting solutions for the largely open ceiling area.
